CHAPLAINCY PROGRAM

Mission:

The mission of the Chaplaincy Department of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is to positively impact public safety and the reduction of recidivism through the rehabilitation and re-integration of adult felons into society. The rendering of pastoral care, management of quality programming and a therapeutic community allow for such an opportunity. It is the purpose of Chaplaincy to provide guidance and nurture to those searching for meaning in life. A variety of programs, activities and community participation are prudently managed wherein an individual is able to pursue their faith, reconcile relationships and strengthen their families.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

There is growing anxiety about how to house the large number of ex-offenders being released from state and federal prison each year, over 600,000 annually. Many of these individuals experience rejection from families and friends, refusal by private landlords and intensive screening (and eviction) from public housing. As a result, the burden of housing ex-offenders increasingly falls upon the shoulders of ill-prepared nonprofit organizations. Many are scrambling to figure out how to keep ex-offenders off the streets, out of shelters and prisons and on the road to a better life.

HELPING X OFFENDERS COMMUNITY

"The only way to go now is up"

http://www.helpingxoffenders.com

email- bobm@helpingxoffenders.com

A new facilty located near Conroe, TX designed to help ex offenders who have no where to go upon release from prison. We are under construction at this tiime on 2-1/2 acres, Oct. 2011, but still have 3 travel trailers with 2 occupied and one being repaired. Another section of our property is being prepared for 4 or 5 more travel trailers and should be completed soon depending on help received.

So far God has seen a need and has sent the least of the least here, SO's (sex offenders) who are still real people. The ones that are here are not violent or habitual but made some mistakes and want to get on with life. The problem is they are rejected by everyone as is lepers.

We are making a difference in lives here but can only go as far as resources allow. Check the website and see if God has something in mind for you. Thank you.

Matt 25:36-40

Building a Reentry Framework for America

Reentry, Technology, People, Purpose
Building Community Capacity Together.

A free webinar to move your reentry efforts to the next level.  Utilizing existing and emerging technology to serve the reentry issue in your community.

Framework is evolving in reentry because we learn and agree on the fundamentals such as identifying resources, best practices, assessments, and referrals. It is time now for the nation to take what we have learned and create a Reentry Framework for America that could allow us to work together more effectively, more economically, increase awareness, increase funding, build partnerships, deploy best practices on a national scale in days not years, and have a much larger more sustainable impact on recidivism and crime.

See how a Reentry Framework can empower autonomous local, organizational, and state reentry initiatives that connect into a national framework. Join us for a look at a Reentry Framework that is available now and hear from others that are using it.

Presenters: David Heath and Larry Frank
