CRJMA Support

PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING CRJMA NEEDS

Like any organization without support progress will be limited. CRJMA has been supported in the past strictly by it's board of trustees but the ministry is out growing that support. To better serve the needs of offenders and ex-offenders, who are still human beings, and help them become useful members in society CRJMA humbly asks for your help.

Help can be given in a number of ways:

  • Financial
  1. The CRJMA Board of Trustees are made up of volunteers who currently belong to or head various prison related ministries of their own and have come together to pool their already streched resources of time and money to further assist real people who happen to carry the label of Offender or Ex-Offender.
  2. CRJMA funds a program called the RELEASEE ASSISTANCE FUND that primarily assists ex-offenders in the Houston, TX area. These people can get help with bus tickets, transportation to and from work locations, apartment rent, food and medical help. Too often this fund has to be used to help in other areas of ministry because of the lack of outside support.
  3. CRJMA offers through it's website a page for each prison unit Mentor Coodinator to assist them in keeping their prison units equipped with as many mentors as possible. This page allows the Coordinator to keep mentors posted on Unit information such as meeting places, car pool info, special events at the Unit like Christmas services, time and event schedules, changes in Unit conditions. This page is free at this time for all Coordinators but requires time and effort on behalf of CRJMA.
  4. Utility and office supply expenses are all absorbed by the CRJMA Board but in order to encourage and inform the public about Prison Ministry and it's enormous impact on communities CRJMA needs help.
  5. CRJMA is involved in daily contact with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and is constantly trying to improve relations between community and TDCJ.
  • Mentors for soon to be released inmates
  1. It's a fact that when an inmate is mentored for about 12-18 months prior to release and again after release the chances of that inmate returning to prison again drops to about 5% compared to 50% for un-mentored offenders!
  2. There are currently 110 prisons with an estimated 155,000 inmates in the Texas prison system. All these prison units have some type of chaplaincy program but very few mentors. Many units have none at all!
  • Mentors for ex-offenders released to the community
  1. Christian halfway houses are available to ex-offenders and they screen offenders prior to their release in order to provide assistance to those who really desire to change for th good. These facilties always need Mentors to come alongside and guide the ex-offender make it back into the FREE WORLD, as the offender would put it. Note: men are required to mentor men and women are required to mentor women. See Links Page for Facilities.

Thank You

CRJMA's sole means of support is from CRJMA's own board and from a few local sources. Would you consider the cause to not just help CRJMA but to help the individual through CRJMA, the Offender or Ex-Offender, change their lives with God as their foundation. We thank you in advance for your time, your help in whatever form and pray that God blesses you abundantly.
